| Attention
Orange High School Fans, Friends and Supporters: Want
Turf?
The
Olentangy
Turf Committee, an organization made up of volunteer
parents from Orange, Liberty and Olentangy High Schools
is well into the process of raising the funds needed
to place synthetic field turf at our three high schools
by the Fall 2012 school year. This private, volunteer
effort is a great opportunity for our community to band
together and provide financial support for this effort.
To date, the campaign is winding its way through the
Olentangy Local Schools vendors and is now moving
into our community for private donations. OOAB and our
sports teams have committed $120,000.00 ($40,000.00
per year for three years) to help with this effort.
Our counterparts at Liberty have also made this same
financial commitment and soon, Olentangy will do the
same. When we add in our marching band projected commitments,
our three schools will be contributing nearly $450,000
toward this important project!
How
can you help? Please visit TurfForOlentangy.com
and read up on this campaign and how you can make a
financial donation to help our student athletes. You
can actually make
a commitment online from the website and your donation
may be tax deductible (see your tax professional for
follow up advice). The benefits are tremendous for our
athletes, our schools and this community! If you prefer,
you can print
this form and send it in with your check.
On
Monday, January 9 at the OOAB
general meeting (7:30 pm, OOHS Commons) come and hear
about the progress of the project from Turf Committee
member Mike Bull. Future presentations will be
occurring at OOMS and OBMS soon.
Thanks
to all of our volunteers, our liaisons, coaches, parents
and student athletes for working so diligently to make
this project a reality!
